The Vancouver Kyokushin Kan Dojo, alongside fellow Canadian dojos representing Team Canada, proudly took part in the Kyokushinkan World Karate Championship 2025. The prestigious international event was held on November 22 and 23, 2025, at the National Yoyogi Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, Japan, bringing together elite competitors and officials from around the world.
A major highlight of the championship was the promotion of Hanshi Shihan Hamid Asna Ashari, who was officially elevated to the distinguished rank of Hanshi Shihan and awarded his 8th Dan, marking a significant milestone in his lifelong dedication to Kyokushin karate.
The Vancouver Kyokushin Kan Dojo was strongly represented at the event by two competitors, Melissa and Amir, under the guidance of coach Takayuki. The dojo also contributed to the championship at the officiating level, with Bahman and Akbar serving as judges, further demonstrating Canada’s respected presence on the world Kyokushin stage.
